Winemaker for a Weekend, Granite Belt

What’s it really like to be a winemaker? Find out with an annual Winemaker for a Weekend experience during vintage on the Granite Belt. This weekend class includes hands-on activities and masterclasses. You’ll learn the processes from picking and crushing the grapes to preparation, fermentation and inoculation of the juice. It takes place at the Banca Ridge Winery and cellar door at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism. Classes are small, with from 10 to 25 budding winemakers and non-participating partners are welcome to join the social side of the weekend. Stanthorpe is a two-hour, 35-minute drive from Brisbane’s CBD and a 1 hour, 50-minute drive from Toowoomba.

Guru Tip
Dinner at Varias Restaurant is included in your winemaker weekend. You can return later in the year to bottle your wine.
