Home to the Granite Belt’s oldest Tempranillo and Saperavi vines, Martin Cooper and Michelle Feenan’s Ridgemill Estate produces a selection of boutique wines, including Strange Bird varieties. The cellar door is open seven days a week for tastings and casual grazing with cheese platters and charcuterie boards. You can also pre-order a picnic hamper (24 hr notice required) to enjoy between the vines. Book ahead (24 hours notice required) for a Wine Makers Tasting experience, a behind-the-scenes experience for two people with winemaker Peter McGlashan that includes a cheese platter. Linger longer and stay in one of their 12 studio cabins with king-size bed and fireplace. There are accessible cabin and pet-friendly cabin options too. The three-bedroom Winery Escape House is pet-friendly with a fenced yard. The accommodation comes with breakfast goodies and a bottle of estate wine in your room. Ridgemill Estate is located approximately five minutes south of Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt.
Guru Tip
Ridgemill Estate’s cellar door also stocks a picnic-worthy stash of local favourites, including jams from Jamworks, Stanthorpe Cheese, local truffles, and local apple juice.
