Charleys Creek Wagyu and Camping, Chinchilla - Melt in your mouth wagyu

Discover some of Australia’s best wagyu beef at Charleys Creek Meats at Clover Hill Ranch run by Steven and Ursula Keating. Located on the doorstep of Chinchilla, visitors can camp, fish, kayak or go bush walking and bird watching here. You don’t have to be a camper to experience a Charleys Creek Friday night Wagyu BBQ held every Friday night. Just book ahead for the three-and-a-half-hour communal fire-pit meal with smoked wagyu brisket, baked potatoes and whole pumpkin over the coals, and salads. Roasting marshmallows over the coals – priceless! After you’ve tried the meat, you can buy it online for collection at the farm or delivery. Tours and tastings also are available. You can join a farm tour, find out more about Cactoblastis, or do a tour of Chinchilla and the region. Look out for the new Charleys Creek Brewing Co taproom, Charleys Creek Waterhole, opening in 2023. Chinchilla is a 2-hour drive from Toowoomba via Dalby or a 3-hour 20 min drive from Brisbane along the Warrego Highway via Toowoomba.

Guru Tip
Why does Wagyu taste so good? Wagyu has plenty of fat which ensures tender, juicy and flavoursome eating. Wagyu fat also has a lower melting point lower than the temperature of the human body, which is what makes it melt in your mouth. Delish!
