Toowoomba’s Booming Brewing Trail

Discover the booming Toowoomba Brewing Trail near Brisbane with an easy two-hour drive west and enjoy authentic beers, tasty tucker and relaxed regional vibes. For a city that didn’t have its own beer until 2017, Toowoomba has embraced craft brews with a big cheer. This Toowoomba Brewery Trail will help you find four of the city’s newest and brightest destinations for beer lovers.

You don’t have to go far to find a pint that captures the essence of Toowoomba. These drinks are filled with quirky twists that ensure you notice the region’s flavours. You’ll also discover a focus on high-quality sessional brews guaranteed to give you a good time.

Start in James Street with an Oat Cream IPA at Volcanic Brewing. Find out why owners Toni and Peter Burton turned their passion for home brewing into a business. Do ask them about the volcano!

At 4 Brothers Brewing in Margaret Street, the Brewhouse is where ex-train driver Adrian Cubit makes his quirky beers. Have you tried honey, mango or pumpkin beer yet? Or what about whetting your lips with an Arrogant Brother?

When you go to a Toowoomba restaurant and pick up a steak for dinner next door, you’ve probably also had a few drinks at Bone Idol Brewery. It’s four for one at this brewery, which has a butcher, coffee shop and restaurant. Using traditional German methods, they create easy drinking beer on Moffatt Street.

Pull out your best hipster vibes and gather around the fire pit at Mouse Proof Brewery on Brook Street with a Braford Bitter or Irish Red Ale. Got the kids and dog with you? This is your spot with a special hangout area and menu for ankle biters.

Toowoomba’s brewery scene is a boiling pot of new activity so always look out for the next new bright star when you visit.
