Take all the family on a country drive - Country Pubs Edition

Looking for a family day out with children and a dog in tow? Country pubs are friendly places and that means families and fur kids are warmly welcomed. Here are the pubs where family comes first with a playground for the children or a beer garden where everyone, including the family pup, can chill.

With a paddock full of goats, lambs, chickens, and camels there is plenty to amuse children at Meringandan Hotel, Meringandan.

Let the kids run around in the playground at The Mill Inn Tavern at Millmerran or teach them how to play pool inside. It’s all designed so families can have a fantastic time.

A children’s television room and menu make The Royal Hotel, Leyburn very family-friendly.

Take the time to relax on the verandah at Bull and Barley Inn, Cambooya with a children’s playground within viewing distance. At Laidley, the Queensland National Hotel has a lushly landscaped beer garden that’s perfect for child play, while The Bun Pub at Kaimkillenbun and Club Hotel at Chinchilla have playgrounds.

Best places to take your furry friend on a leash at a pub include the verandah of the Mulgowie Hotel, Mulgowie or Victoria Hotel, Goondiwindi; outside at the Lockyer Hotel, Forest Hill, The Bun Pub, Kaimkillenbun, and Condamine Hotel, Condamine; and in the beer garden at The Royal Hotel, Goondiwindi, Exchange Hotel, Jandowae or Dulacca Hotel, Dulacca.
