Go West for a real country taste of life

Get a taste of Queensland Country life with a five-pub country drive west from Toowoomba.

STOP 1: Head down the Warrego Highway to the first stop at The Bun Pub in Kaimkillenbun. If it is too early for one of their craft beers, grab a barista coffee instead.

STOP 2: At the Exchange Hotel in Jandowae, you’ll be wowed by the heritage façade and tempted by their huge Outback Parmi.

STOP 3: Stop for a beer, grass or grain-fed beef steak at Chinchilla’s Club Hotel.

STOP 4: Enjoy the 100-year-old Art Deco-themed Windsor Hotel in Miles while you work your way through their impressive steak menu.

STOP 5: Find your spot on the deck and tuck into dinner at Queensland’s pink pub on the hill, the Dulacca Hotel, Dulacca. You can pitch your tent on the camping ground next to the pub.

Returning to Toowoomba via Condamine, the perfect lunch stop is the rustic Condamine Hotel. It’s all about meat with tender local steak and lamb on the menu. Park your RV at Caliguel Lagoon for a longer stay.

Queensland Country Tourism acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways that run through these regions. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past, present and emerging.
